Assurance

“ Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see”  Hebrews 11:1 NIV  The word assurance derives  from 2 Greek words. Hypostasis meaning a foundation or reality. The other, is  Plerophoria meaning a complete certainty or entire conviction.  Altogether the word means something that is a foundation in which there is complete certainty in.  To me the word “ assurance ” means something deeper. It’s the heartfelt inner confidence that God is who He says He is and does what He says He will do. An inner confidence so strong that it’s built on the foundation of Jesus Christ forming our entire conviction.  But let’s look at that verse more closely. Faith is confidence for what we hope in and complete certainty for what is unknown. WOW! So without assurance, we have no complete certainty in our faith. That’s how important assurance is. Jesus is the Rock. Our faith is built upon Him meaning our hope is in Him and we have complet...

Every Step

We were never meant to see all the details…. For the longest time I tried to make my OWN destiny WITH God’s help not TRUE SURRENDER.  I see him differently now. He’s not just a God who you go to for tips throughout your life. He’s a personal God who shows you the way to go with each step you take. You don’t have to try to pick the right path, he leads you where he wants you to go. Proverbs 16:9 “We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps” The small light of the star is what we can see but God invented the whole universe. We try to make galaxy size choices through    star size perspectives. We try to help GOD in our life. Wondering when he will bring about a change, that he knows you’re not fully prepared for. Like we need to somehow help God speed up his perfect process. Sometimes I say things like, “just show me the right path that way I can avoid all the preparation”. Not knowing I needed the preparation to be on the path GOD has for me. Testimony Time…....

Worry

Worry is something we struggle with everyday! Can you imagine what the world would look like if people didn’t worry? The only way for that to happen was if there wasn’t anything to worry about! That would be Heaven. There is absolutely things on this planet that we have a right to worry about. Jobs, Kids, Health, Repairs, Money, and so much more but I’m sure as I’m saying this you are already thinking “great now I have to worry about money”. I didn’t think about “that” worry till you brought it up. I apologize if that’s you. However, we understand that worry exists. It’s there. So what is the ROOT cause of worry? Worry comes from being overwhelmed. Too much to handle for a mere human. We get tired from thinking too hard, too much, and working too hard, too much. We try to get everything, every moment in our life to line up the exact way that we want it to. But it doesn’t, more often than not. We want this job, we get no job. We want a new car, we lose our job. We love our new car, it ...

Ready?

Being ready for anything takes hard work! Just trying to go anywhere, we always lose or forget those essentials. The wallet. The keys. The phone. Truth be told, sometimes we even forget to bring family members with us,(like our children). When we get ready, we must be Prepared Ahead Of Time. We must schedule when we are leaving to go somewhere. We must get dressed for whatever the occasion is. We must have all essentials in a known location before leaving. Lastly, if we are bringing a family member with us to a certain place, then we must notify them when we are leaving so they too can get prepared. Now where am I going with this, you may ask? Well here it is. Basically, the main idea is that the preparing we do when leaving our houses, we should also do to be READY for Jesus’ arrival. Now here’s the Christian twist on that. “He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭22‬:‭20‬ ‭NLT‬‬ GOOD NEWS! Jesus is comi...

Dedicated

Being dedicated to Christ. It’s a commitment to Christ for life. To tell you the truth, this blog topic crushes many hopes of people who are this close to wanting to be a Christian. Everybody wants to be a Christian for the blessings that you receive but very few will stay wanting to be a Christian when the whole world is on the opposite side of them. Sadly, there are even Christians today that say they are following Christ but live in the opposite direction. It’s very hard. It’s extremely difficult to choose something in your life in which many others will not choose with you. Picture this. You are with a group of friends in a forest, about 4 to 5 friends are with you. There’s two paths that you can take to hike, but you can’t choose them both, you have to pick a side. Let’s say 3 of your 5 friends choose the path to the left. It’s a wide path. You look down it and you see a lot of people outside of your friend group are taking that path. “Well since it’s a popular path, it must mean ...

Perception

This is one of the toughest topics to cover in today’s culture. There are so many woman and men today, that will do something they regret based off either their perception of themselves, their perception of others, or others perception of them. I too am guilty of this. It’s so hard. Were you aware that the only time we can view ourselves is through either a reflection or a camera? Which makes me think about biblical times. They definitely didn’t have phones back then and only the wealthy could acquire expensive mirrors like we have today. So what did the ladies in biblical times use to test if they looked beautiful enough? What did the men in biblical times use to see if they looked fit enough? So It turns out that they used the reflection coming off the water to view themselves the way we view ourselves. Now it makes even more sense why God says he is our living water. Only through God can we see ourselves clearly. That’s all they had to depend on. That’s all they needed. That’s all w...

Refreshment

In the Bible, this word means to restore the strength of the soul. Now what in the world does that mean? This is going to be a very difficult concept to understand, I know this because it was for me as well. So to restore the strength of the soul, you seek a “refreshment”, hopefully it’s Jesus Christ the “living water”. However, some people think you can only seek Jesus Christ through acts of worship such as singing to him, praying, or reading the Bible. Fortunately, there are a lot more than those. Due to our bodies being a temple, just by keeping our bodies healthy, we are dipping into the “ Refreshment ” God provides us. Like I said before, I struggled hard with this concept. I keep the verse “…For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45, in my mind at all times. Just recently, I realized I misinterpreted this verse. I am a giver at heart, and being a Christian we are always told to elevate others above...
